Taipei – September 01, 2015 – ALi Corporation, a leading Set-Top Box (STB) chipset solution provider, today unveiled a family of SoC solutions that integrate High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) for hybrid cable, satellite, terrestrial and IP set-top boxes. ALi’s system-on-chip chipsets provide operators a high-quality and cost-effective solution for migration to HEVC, a cutting-edge, high-efficiency video compression standard for improved delivery of high definition content over existing networks.
ALi’s HEVC-enabled chipsets feature 1080p60 high-quality FHD display, 2000 DMIPs high performance processor capable of supporting a wide range of middleware, 256KB L2 cache enabling optimum browser/hybrid performance, and ALi’s latest advanced security engine supporting most CAS and DRM technologies. In addition to ALi AUI (Application Unified Interface) enabling efficient and seamless chipset migration from ALi H.264 platforms to new HEVC solutions, ALi further introduces a new fresh UI look to accommodate referencing system design.
“ALi has completed integration of HEVC to our STB chipset portfolio for our customers to upgrade their platforms to the latest video compression standard with minimum efforts and costs,” said Tony Chang, General Manager of ALi’s Broadcast and Broadband Media Business Unit. “HD HEVC set-top boxes are quickly rolling out around the world with the market to rise to 88 million units by 2020, according to ABI Research. ALi will continue to bring leading-edge STB chipset designs that allow service providers and STB manufacturers to deliver premium quality content with state-of-the-art technology and optimized cost structure.”
Live demonstrations of ALi’s HEVC-enabled chipsets are available at Suite 2F #BM24, Hall 1, IBC 2015, taking place on September 11-15 in Amsterdam.
